The next day therefore we took the road to Wuzhou, another city on the Xi river, and one where you might bump into other western tourists (for the first time since we left Guangzhou). This city is the starting point for the nightboat to Hong Kong. We had been lucky the first few days but it was still rainy season and someone had decided to let us know. It started raining the minute we sat on our bikes and it kept raining all day. Very, very wet we checked into the hotel and decided that if it rained the next day we would go to Yangshuo by bus. We went by bus....

The bus
appearently took the scenic route and 12 hours(!) later we were about
270 km
Some of the backpackers stay overnight and spend their time in the only cafes available in the South of China. Yangshuo and Guilin are famous for their very beautiful karst mountains. They are certainly worth a visit.
